[Bug 474684] New: Maximizing windows not working correctly on xrandr multiscreen setup
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=474684 Summary: Maximizing windows not working correctly on xrandr multiscreen setup Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: danielstefanmader@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 There are still bugs in the handling of multiscreen setups: fullscreened windows for example get confused on which screen the panel is. That makes them wander behind the panel on the screen with the panel, while they omit exactly the amount of screen real estate corresponding to the panel on exactly the position but the wrong screen. See attached screen shot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) start multiscreen setup with xrandr tools 2) configure workspace and place the panel somewhere 3) verify correct function 4) logout and login again, verify confusion -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=474684 User danielstefanmader@web.de added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=474684#c2 --- Comment #2 from Daniel Mader <danielstefanmader@web.de> 2009-02-11 03:02:49 MST --- Forgot to mention this piece of information in order to reproduce: After the next login, the multisceen setup has to be reestablished with xrandr tools, of course. Maybe this is the very step where KDE4 gets confused, because after simply dragging the panel to another screen an back again, maximizing works as expected again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And you may also consider modifying your tone, I can understand your disappointment with current multiscreensupport, but they are improving it fast and solid, they are also very responsive in IRC. Actually since 4.2RC1 multiscreensupport did a huge leap forward for me and it's getting better... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Like so many other things. BKO reports have a tendency to rot there until the end of time without so much as even an assignee. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Lack of bugreport handling in bko cannot be solved with reporting all valid issues here, the novell kde team is quite busy already, as I guess are most upstream developers =) and btw, you are describing a different bug in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181679#c11 which sounds like very recent plasma issues with broken storing of widgets =/ The overlapping should be fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
