[Bug 1209105] [Build 20230308] Upgrade of Leap 15.x (with libvirtd.service enabled) to TW -> no libvirtd, service present

(In reply to Julie Cao from comment #7)
libvirtd.service was found disappeared in my Tumbleweed test too after libvirt => 9.1.0. https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3174874
reproduce step:
1. install TW snapshot20230314
So a fresh install, not an upgrade like dimstar's report?
Yes, a fresh install of TW.
2. zypper in -t pattern kvm_server kvm_tools 3. systemctl --no-pager enable libvirtd Failed to enable unit: Unit file libvird.service does not exist.
On a fresh install, kvm_server and kvm_tools no longer install libvirtd. Both patterns only recommend (or require) libvirt-daemon-qemu, which no longer includes the monolithic libvirtd. Enable and start virtqemud.{socket, service} instead.
BTW, I recently documented libvirt modular daemons in the SLE doc, but not sure how that flows to the openSUSE docs

Thank you, James. I looked through the document of the new modular libvirt. With libvirt 9.1.0, our test is going to change to use virtqemud for KVM and virtxend for XEN instead of legacy libvirtd.service. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
