https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=698103 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=698103#c0 Summary: GNOME 3 crashes Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Milestone 1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jrswagswegie1996@aol.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: jrswagswegie1996@aol.com Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: No On my system, the openSUSE Live CD system crashes. The first time it notifies me a crash occurred, and the second time it logs me out. This happens in Fall Back Session, non-Fallback won't work. I have a Dell Diemension B110 with an Intel 865G chipset (and video) and a Intel Celeron D processor. Video issues with Linux are prevelant on my system, as almost all non-plymouth splaahes and non-XRender desktop effects don't work on my system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Which, on the other hand, means, that the fall back mode at least should be operational for you. You say it 'crashes': Can you please try to get at least a .xsession-errors file from the users home directory after gnome3 crashed? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Out of curiosity, will the openSUSE and Novell bugs be separated with how SUSE and Novell are splitting? The thing that happened that I remember as it made a dialogue box that took over the screen and said something along the lines of GNOME has crashed - rebooting. I'll help soon as I can. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi,
No problem - but as soon as I get back from vacation in 9 days. Out of curiosity, will the openSUSE and Novell bugs be separated with how SUSE and Novell are splitting? The thing that happened that I remember as it made a dialogue box that took over the screen and said something along the lines of GNOME has crashed - rebooting. I'll help soon as I can.
Hey, I tried Milestone 2 -- this issue is now resolved in it. Thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
