http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1046409 Bug ID: 1046409 Summary: Gnome or Gnome classical GDM logon doesn't work after upgrade from 42.2 to current 42.3 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: terje@nordland-teknikk.no QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 730583 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=730583&action=edit /var/log/gdm files Having upgraded 3 machines from Leap 42.2 to 42.3/Gnome, the third workstation failes to logon to a Gnome or Gnome classical session. Upraded first the default enabled 42.3 oss, non-oss and update repos using 'zypper dup'. Entered the normal user name and password into the GDM login menu, after fairly long wait with just a grey screen and then get returned just the GDM login menu again without logon. Other logon sessions to ICEKVM works, so also to K5 plasma after installing the KDE patterns. gnome-shell --version GNOME Shell 3.20. alfa:~ # /sbin/lspci -nnk | grep VGA -A2 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GM206 [GeForce GTX 960] [10de:1401] (rev a1) Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Maybe it's useful to have "journal -b" result first when the issue happens.
Sorry I'm unfamiliar with the journaling system and commands, and see there is also a yast2 tool. What I've tried the following command line output: journalctl -b > journal-b and lastly gzipped and attached the output here as journal-b.gz -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
