It happens with the rpm from the OpenSUSE Education repository (version 0.23.9) as well as with my own compile from the sources. The problem has been already reported here: http://klayout.de/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=553 Proposed solution (remove 64bit version of Klayout and install 32bit instead) solves the problem. Thus I have recompiled the source rpm klayout-0.23.9-1.1.src.rpm without stripping the debugging info from the final executable. In the attachment I enclose the output from ./klayout as run from the console (./klayout 2>2.log), via gdb and via valgrind. could also be that one of the version updates in Education/klayout fixed it on 13.2. can we close the bug?
