It is needed if you want to reject mails addressed to unknown users already during the SMTP dialog in combination with the Cyrus IMAP server. Up to now I had to recompile the "sendmail" binary with SOCKETMAP support by adding | appdef(`confMAPDEF',`-DSOCKETMAP')dnl to | devtools/Site/site.config.m4 manually.
