CA is has an acceptable workaround.
Well, not really - it requires rebooting the server. Anyway, it seems there is a newer driver version that solves this problem: Quote: As a workaround, use the ROM-based configuration utility (ORCA) or boot the server using the offline ACU to configure the HP Smart Array controller. To avoid the server unresponsiveness, instead of using the cciss driver packaged in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2, use the cciss driver Version 4.6.28-22 (or later), available from hp.com. Unquote. For openSUSE, we could perhaps update the cciss driver.
