http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=576292 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=576292#c0 Summary: File roller very slow when canceling operation when working with large 7z archives Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: eylvisaker@physics.ucdavis.edu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091222 SUSE/3.5.7-1.1.1 Firefox/3.5.7 Extracting files very a very large 7-zip archive is slow. For the 7-zip file manager running in windows, takes about 2min 30sec. Canceling the "Extracting files" dialog when extracting five small files from a 2.6 GB 7z archive results in the File Roller window no longer responding to window events. It seems to be waiting for the background 7z process, which uses 100% of a cpu core, and then file roller waiting uses an additional 100% of a cpu core. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Procure a large 7zip archive with many files. 2. Open in File Roller 3. Extract a few small files. 4. Cancel the operation. Actual Results: File Roller stops responding to input and uses two full CPU cores for a few minutes after the cancellation occurs. Expected Results: File Roller should immediately begin accepting input. It should not use two full CPU cores -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
