Benji@Banjo:~> tuxguitar /dev/sequencer: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: Keine Berechtigung
This looks like a permission error for your sound device in general: your user has no access to the device. Normally, this device belongs to user 'root', group 'audio'. Can you please verify that your user is in this group and the file has the correct permissions? Just execute the two commands on a shell: Benji@Banjo:~> ls -l /dev/snd/seq crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 1 2. Mai 15:28 /dev/snd/seq Can you please also verify that your user is at least in the group 'audio'? Benji@Banjo:~> id uid=xxxxxx(Benji) gid=100(users) groups=...,17(audio),... (the IDs might differ). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

but that Prot does give no sound and i cannot switch to another port, because no other is shown ´til I start timidity by hand. Then i can choose and it works fine.
Found it: timidity comes with an init script that enables the sequenzer, if you call "rctimidity start" as root, the sequenzer starts - afterwards tuxguitar should be able to connect. You can enable timidity during start via the Runlevel Editor in YaST so far. I submitted a package that does this automatically during the first install (but not during an update). Submitrequest ID: 116378 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Thu May 3 08:11:35 UTC 2012 - lars@linux-schulserver.de - rebasing the patches - specfile cleanup via spec-cleaner - enable the init-script by default if the package is installed for the first time (not during an update) - this should fix bnc #759829 ------------------------------------------------------------------- => closing the bug as fixed: you just need to enable timidity - and all users of openSUSE 12.2 and beyond will get timidity enabled during the first installation of the package. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
