[Bug 259680] New: No direct rendering for "SuperSavage IX/C" because of outdated "DRM" modules
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=259680 Summary: No direct rendering for "SuperSavage IX/C" because of outdated "DRM" modules Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 2plus Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jfrieben@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de After a fresh install from the "SL-OSS-factory", direct rendering does not work for my "IBM ThinkPad T23". Typing "glxgears" returns: "libGL error: drmMap of framebuffer failed (Invalid argument)" "libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering" although the relevant kernel modules "drm.ko" and "savage.ko" have been loaded, and the "X" server reports: "(II) SAVAGE(0): Direct rendering enabled" Building the corresponding modules from the "mesa/drm" development tree of "freedesktop.org" and loading them instead of the kernel modules delivered with kernel "2.6.21-rc5-2-default" allows to restore 3D capability. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=259680 ------- Comment #2 from jfrieben@hotmail.com 2007-04-02 01:51 MST ------- (In reply to comment #1) I submitted the upstream bug report in the first place, namely http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7767 but there hasn't been much activity going on. Moreover, this issue has been around for about half a year and already affected OpenSUSE 10.2 which shipped a release candidate of Xorg 7.2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
