[Bug 540770] New: Touchpad intermittently not recognized by the kernel during boot
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540770 User pliniusminor@gmail.com added comment http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540770#c1 Summary: Touchpad intermittently not recognized by the kernel during boot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pliniusminor@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nl; rv:1.9.0.14) Gecko/2009090900 SUSE/3.0.14-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.14 During booting, the touchpad on my Acer Aspire One A150 sometimes isn't recognized during booting. With the result, that I can't use the scroll function (other functions of the touchpad are OK). This isn't due to faulty hardware, because this is a triple boot computer. The other two operating systems on it, Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 and Windows XP Home, don't show this problem. Gsynaptics fails with the following error: [code] GSynaptics couldn't initialize. Does it help to restart the Xserver?
No. I restarted the X-server three times (2 x Ctrl-Alt-Backspace), but this didn't help. The touchpad wasn't recognized any of the times. I should add, that this problem is new. It started a week ago (or something). Possibly something to do with updates? Also, it's strange that the touchpad is still partly, even mostly, functional. The only thing that doesn't work is "scrolling without the buttons". -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
