[Bug 420922] New: LPR printer setup with YasST2
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=420922 Summary: LPR printer setup with YasST2 Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: johnlb2002@cox.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- With a Lantronics EPS2-100 the initial setup requires manual setting of the remote IP and the remote queue name. The search function has never worked, and takes 5 minutes to find absolutely nothing - so manual input is required! I have to get the print server in a browser and then copy it's settings over manually to get them accurate. Then I can do the test to see if it has made a connection and is active. This test is NEVER available after that point. On 10.0 through 10.3 (except for very recent updates) allowed me to run that test without disturbing the queue setup, and was often REQUIRED to get it to work again after a windows system printer to that printer and screwed up the Lantronics. Now, I have to totally wipe out the queue and completely re-install it. Also, the Use Local Filtering option is ONLY available on the initial setup It should be at least flagged as local or no filtering. If it gets missed, it's, again, wipe the queue and re-install. Put the test and option check back in so I don't have to wipe the queue! What was never an easy task is now completely EXASPERATING! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
