https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=830661 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=830661#c0 Summary: KMail unuseable, eating up CPU Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: Yes Since the last factory update yesterday (which brought KDE 4.10.90) - kmail, akonadiserver and mysql eat up my cpu - kmail takes ages to display a mail (more than a minute) - it's impossible to send a mail - the composer window stays open (greyed out) forever, but the mail isn't sent (I killed kmail after maybe 10 minutes) In other words: KMail from KDE 4.10.90 is completely unuseable on my system :-( - I have to use webmail for now. This happens with an existing user, with some GB of mails. (With a new test user, KMail doesn't eat up the CPU - but the test user does not have any mails.) I'll happily help to debug this - just tell me what you need. Hints how to get a working KMail again are also very welcome. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I still get the same problem with KDE 4.10.95 from Factory, and also when installing the latest akonadi and kdepim packages from KDE:Distro:Factory (which has KDE 4.10.97).
For the records: still happens after zypper dup --from KDE:Distro:Factory (to avoid a mixup of packages from different repos)
Interestingly the rpm changelog in KDF does not contain the Jul 23 entry you mentioned, but has "update to 4.10.97" instead:
Ignore this notice - the patch was in kdepim-runtime (now in upstream code), not in the kmail package.
To make things slightly more interesting, akonadi in Factory now requires kdepim >= 4.10.95, so I'm just building akonadi-runtime in home:cboltz:kde410 to (hopefully) get a useable KMail again.
This gave me a fast kmail - but in read only mode. I could read mails, but not move them to another folder or delete them. KMail didn't even mark them as read :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
