https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=795535 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=795535#c0 Summary: Application:Geo/munin: Bug, fail2ban plugin configuration has 1 error so no graphs made Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: opensuse@dstoecker.de ReportedBy: sault.don@gmail.com QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com CC: tzotsos@gmail.com Found By: Community User Blocker: --- Summary of Problem: No graphs are made for fail2ban plugin as configuration contains a single error (although six lines are ok) Steps to Reproduce: 1.) Create symlink from /usr/lib/munin/plugins/fail2ban to /etc/munin/plugins/fail2ban 2.) Update munin-node in /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/ with the following: [fail2ban] user root env.client /usr/bin/fail2ban-client 3.) Restart munin-node with $(rcmunin-node restart) Expected Results: Fail2ban graphs are created in munin stats page. Actual Results: /var/log/munin/munin-update.log outputs the following error: 2012/12/20 12:50:03 [WARNING] 1 lines had errors while 6 lines were correct in data from 'config fail2ban' on prrdmgis/127.0.0.1/4949 Is this simply happening because the fail2ban jail is empty? Additional Info: The output from... :~ # munin-run --debug fail2ban config # Processing plugin configuration from /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/munin-node # Set /rgid/ruid/egid/euid/ to /112/0/112 112 /0/ # Setting up environment # Environment client = /usr/bin/fail2ban-client # About to run '/etc/munin/plugins/fail2ban config' graph_title Hosts blacklisted by fail2ban graph_info This graph shows the number of host blacklisted by fail2ban graph_category network graph_vlabel Number of hosts graph_args --base 1000 -l 0 graph_total total .label -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=795535 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=795535#c3 --- Comment #3 from Marc Schütz <schuetzm@gmx.net> 2013-01-11 16:03:06 UTC --- This is indeed caused by the lack of configured jails, and is trivially fixed. I've submitted the fix upstream (which is already merged): https://github.com/munin-monitoring/munin/pull/57 Regarding the update, I have now finished the packaging of the new version, which includes the fix for bnc#781365 and sysvinit/systemd support. It is available here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=munin&project=home%3Amarc_schuetz%3Abranches%3Aserver%3Amonitoring It is now running on my servers without any obvious problems; I'll be watching it for the next few days to see whether anything fails. It would be nice if someone could test it (no reconfiguration should be needed), especially on SLES, as I only have one openSUSE 11.4 and openSUSE 12.2 each to test. (Note that this doesn't yet contain the fix for this bug; Munin releases about once a month, so I'll probably pull it in with the next update, to be expected in early February. You will probably want to configure a jail anyway...) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
