[Bug 245661] New: Wish: Ability to add options manually in Sax2
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=245661 Summary: Wish: Ability to add options manually in Sax2 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: felix.rommel@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Please add a feature that it is possible to add an xorg.conf option in Sax2 manually. For example if you have an Intel GMA 950 graphic card I have to add Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" manually for getting good 3D effects without XGL but with AIGLX. If you provide the ability to add options manually, people do not have to edit xorg.conf manually any more in most cases but can directly insert them in Sax2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

It's a generic XAA option, useful for disabling some possibly broken hardware accelerated functions (2D), as long as XAA is still in use (many drivers now also support EXA, and will probably use it by default soon). I'm not sure whether it's really a good idea to add these generic XAA options to our config tool. Currently available generic Xaa options are: XaaNoCPUToScreenColorExpandFill XaaNoColor8x8PatternFillRect XaaNoColor8x8PatternFillTrap XaaNoDashedBresenhamLine XaaNoDashedTwoPointLine XaaNoImageWriteRect XaaNoMono8x8PatternFillRect XaaNoMono8x8PatternFillTrap XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps XaaNoPixmapCache XaaNoScanlineCPUToScreenColorExpandFill XaaNoScanlineImageWriteRect XaaNoScreenToScreenColorExpandFill XaaNoScreenToScreenCopy XaaNoSolidBresenhamLine XaaNoSolidFillRect XaaNoSolidFillTrap XaaNoSolidHorVertLine XaaNoSolidTwoPointLine Egbert, Matthias. But I know others think different. As we're already providing support for driver specific features, we definitely should add non-driver-specific features as well. Especially if the side effects are less potential harmful than many of the driver specific options. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

You are now able to select the Xaa options from comment #2. The Options are stored in the CardModules file as usual. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=245661 ------- Comment #5 from felix.rommel@web.de 2007-02-23 08:23 MST ------- Another option which is important is enabling/disabling Composite extension for using Compiz on Intel graphic cards: Option "Composite" "enable" It would be fine to include this, too. Or maybe integrate that in gnome-xgl-settings see bug report: id=247374 Is it possible to add a text input field for adding own parameters in Sax2? That would expand the flexibility of Sax2 if special parameters are needed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
