I presume that it contains patches for CVE-2007-4770 and CVE-2007-4771 and a few patches for OpenOffice.org. It would be helpful if ICU were upgraded to ICU 4.0 in the next release of OpenSUSE. ICU 4.0 has these patches fully integrated, unlike 3.8.1. Fedora Core, Debian and a few other distributions already have plans to upgrade. While your at it, when you create your custom RPM package of ICU, can you also use the --with-data-packaging=archive configure option when building ICU. If you use CPPFLAGS+=-DICU_DATA_DIR=\"\\\"/usr/share/icu/4.0/\\\"\" before configuring ICU, this will also allow ICU to find its data automatically. These options are helpful when you plan to install ICU as an operating system level library. It makes it easier to update the data library with the latest time zone information.
