[Bug 810665] New: As OpenSUSE 11.4 is an Ever Green Product Please Reinstate all Repositories
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810665 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810665#c0 Summary: As OpenSUSE 11.4 is an Ever Green Product Please Reinstate all Repositories Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: secure@aphofis.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=530801) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=530801) 1 of 2 screen shots User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 As version of openSUSE 11.4 is an Ever Green product http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:11.4 its complete adjunctive repositories need to be reinstated. I understand many were community repositories so all I am asking is to put back what was only there...I'll attach an example that was available via searching for repos and what has been taken away. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Yast>Software>Repositories>Add>Search 2. 3. Actual Results: What was once available not longer exists..All I am asking is that the past existing repos to be reinstated...It is all ready accepted that additional repos were not ALL required to run 11.4, however if the version is to be Ever Green it makes sense just to reinstate them as they were...I can find no logic in removing repos with the understanding that O/S updates may not be present...Thats not the issue...The issue is all the huge amount of hard work people went through to refine and create new open apps and essential Video Drivers Expected Results: All I am asking is that the past existing repos to be reinstated...I can find no logic in their removal, whether this be via removing the search tools or just reinstating all of them seems a mute point. Many of us just like to maintain our own internal update servers rather than flood external traffic by 'n' number of hosts I dont understand why they were removed in the first instance when 11.4 is an evergreen version -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Further complications back to .RPM (thank God) file formats make it a bit harder I guess. As a closing remark could somewhat update the definition of 'evergreen' as its seems to get bandied about with no tangible effect to my eyes -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
