[Bug 965776] New: update openSUSE-2016-140 contains a bug
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=965776 Bug ID: 965776 Summary: update openSUSE-2016-140 contains a bug Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: paolo@e-course.pl QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0 Build Identifier: I have a computer with 2 video cards: - 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Turks XT [Radeon HD 6670/7670] - 06:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Cedar [Radeon HD 5000/6000/7350/8350 Series] I use the open source radeon driver, not the proprietary one. I have two VGA compatible monitors attached to those cards. I use xrandr to extend my desktop. After update openSUSE-2016-140 my monitor attached to the second radeon video card turned black. I tried several options to enable it: The video card is detected and seems to be installed properly. The monitor is also recognized. After installing the proprietary Radeon drivers with Xinerama, both cards and monitors seem to be working again. But there are some features in xrandr, which are not in the proprietary driver, which I would like to use. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install update openSUSE-2016-140 2. Reboot or login again. Actual Results: Installation was complete without any errors. After logging in, the second video card did not send any signal to the monitor. Expected Results: The second video card should send a signal to the monitor. Please, inform me what additional information should I provide. I can reproduce the behaviour and send you logs. I need: 1) which logs you would like to receive? 2) are there any console commands which I should try in order to send you the output? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

NP. You're welcome - it should find its way into the next TW. Please check comment #26 in the other ticket for a repo where you can find the fix until then. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
