[Bug 206401] New: icon mouseover effect shouldn't be displayed for kickoff menu
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206401 Summary: icon mouseover effect shouldn't be displayed for kickoff menu Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: francisg@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de On few occassions the menu appears to battle with the icon mouseover effect. Though generally the mouseover effect is only displayed for a split second before the menu comes up generally, on a couple of occassions the menu hasn't come up at all, and only the icon mouseover effect has (see http://giannaros.org/kickoff.pdf). Also, out of interest, what's the point of the kickoff -> Search index selector? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

It starts/opens Kerry with the search term. But this was broken in Alpha 4. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206401 ------- Comment #6 from francisg@gmail.com 2006-10-30 10:30 MST ------- Where is that option? I haven't seen it or changed it to my knowledge, and I grepped in ~/.kde/share/config with no luck; but I am using an old ~. However, I just created a new test user and I can confirm that the problem is indeed not there for a newly created user, so I guess most of the problem's gone. Though I do imagine that a lot of us keep our ~ from version to version; still a bug, then? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206401 ------- Comment #7 from stbinner@novell.com 2006-11-07 10:05 MST ------- The open on hover option is in the control center, "Panels" module, "Menus" tab, or simply in kickerrc [General] OpenOnHover=true -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206401 ------- Comment #8 from francisg@gmail.com 2006-11-08 16:49 MST ------- Oh, you mean that. Nope, I haven't touched that -- I still have the default, which is: OpenOnHover=true. That's why I think this is a bug; it comes up just before the menu pops up and battles with it. This is with the updated beta1+ packs from factory (see below). As I said though, with a new user this doesn't occur. francis@suse:~> rpm -q kdelibs3 kdebase3 kdelibs3-3.5.5-21 kdebase3-3.5.5-31 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I've added an assert and can trigger it frequently, so it should be easy to fix now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
