[Bug 874153] New: update the openSUSE installer look and feel (based on SLE12)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=874153 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=874153#c0 Summary: update the openSUSE installer look and feel (based on SLE12) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.2 Milestone 0 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: ASSIGNED Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: mvidner@suse.com ReportedBy: mvidner@suse.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com CC: rbrown@suse.com, wimer@suse.com, bruno@ioda-net.ch, jreidinger@suse.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- As SUSE will release SLE 12 this year, YaST is getting a new look for the installation (designed by Ken Wimer). Until now, the changes to SLE have been not visible in openSUSE, (because yast2-theme-SLE.rpm is a distinct package from yast2-theme.rpm) but a recent change (titles on the left, bnc#868859) has spilled over to openSUSE and prompts an update. old look (light, top title): https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1512/modules/welcome/steps/3 mixed look (light, left title): https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1447/modules/welcome/steps/3 I intend to copy the SLE style to openSUSE and keep it in sync while it is still being tuned. At the openSUSE Conference next week it may be decided that we want something else, but this is a reasonable starting point. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Close it - but we had some discussions in Dubrovnik that it would be great if the qss had a way to expand variables for colors.
I experimented with css preprocessors, but they are all erroring on qss specifics (some of them are really stupid, e.g. rgba() not being the same as in css).
So I wonder if we can add some basic preprocessing in libyui-qt, so we can adapt colors easier.
I think it is not good idea to have preprocessing in libyui-qt, but if we really need it, we can create own simple tool in ruby, where it is quite easy to create preprocessor and there is actually a lot of existing for css, so maybe we need just adapting it to generate qss instead of css. BTW if we need just color processing, then we can use something like mentioned here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10898399/using-variables-in-qt-stylesheet... and if it is really needed, we can also add some basic operations here. But really keep preprocessor outside of libyui-qt because someone else can also use it and libyui-qt is already quite complicate, so keep using native qss file directly -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

the problem is purely that the preprocessor needs to work for designers too... :)
well, rails use simple erb files, which I think works even for designers...we can discuss it with ken what is possible for designers :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
