Edward Ed Borasky <znmeb@borasky-research.net> 2011-02-08 09:04:14 UTC --- It looks like PostgreSQL 9.0.3 RPMs are starting to trickle into the repositories. However, there are some dependency conflicts trying to install them. If you go to http://software.opensuse.org/search, you can find RPMs easily enough but there seem to be missing files. For example: # zypper search -s postgresql Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... S | Name | Type | Version | Arch | Repository --+-----------------------------------------------+------------+--------------------+--------+------------------------------------------------- | postgresql | package | 9.0.3-39.1 | x86_64 | PostgreSQL and related packages (openSUSE_11.3) | postgresql | package | 8.4.5-0.3.1 | x86_64 | Updates for openSUSE 11.3 11.3-1.82 | postgresql | package | 8.4.4-2.3 | x86_64 | openSUSE-11.3-Oss | postgresql | package | 9.0.3-39.1 | i586 | PostgreSQL and related packages (openSUSE_11.3) | postgresql | package | 8.4.5-0.3.1 | i586 | Updates for openSUSE 11.3 11.3-1.82 | postgresql | package | 8.4.4-2.3 | i586 | openSUSE-11.3-Oss | postgresql | srcpackage | 9.0.3-39.1 | noarch | PostgreSQL and related packages (openSUSE_11.3) | postgresql | srcpackage | 8.4.5-0.3.1 | noarch | Updates for openSUSE 11.3 11.3-1.82 | postgresql | patch | 3356 | noarch | Updates for openSUSE 11.3 11.3-1.82 but when you try to install you get # zypper install postgresql Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... Problem: nothing provides postgresql-libs = 9.0 needed by postgresql-9.0.3-39.1.x86_64 Solution 1: do not install postgresql-9.0.3-39.1.x86_64 Solution 2: break postgresql by ignoring some of its dependencies Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/c] (c): So I am currently still running 8.4.5 coming out of 'Updates for openSUSE 11.3 11.3-1.82'.
