https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=650399 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=650399#c0 Summary: Virtualbox module version don't match kernel version Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: speilicke@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: mseben@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- There are no updated virtualbox modules shipped with new kernel versions. I've got the following kernel installed from the Updates repository: Linux machine 2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2010-10-25 08:40:12 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux But the Virtualbox modules still stay at the kernel version from the vanilla 11.3 repo, which breaks VBox. Instead, updated versions should be shipped in the updates repository alongside new kernel versions. So I uninstalled everything VBox-related and after reinstalling the correct packages, everything works again. Therefore closing the bug. As a sidenote, zypper suggested the following package selection while I'm actually running kernel-desktop: "kernel-default preload-kmp-default virtualbox-ose virtualbox-ose-host-kmp-default" -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
