https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472265 Summary: Kernel panic while configuring network Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vmrnkv@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; ru; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 First of all I would like to tell about my hardware. I have Athlon3000+, ATI Radeon HD 2600PRO (AGP), 1GB memory size and two network cards one for home network and another for Internet. I know that ATI does not produce official video drivers for PCI-E -> AGP cards, but some times I try to use drivers that I have :). Last one was be one month ago (from official site). A one week ago I found out that SuSe adds repository for ATI cards and I try to install it on my system... After installation my home network has been broken. I know that my videocard may not work with this driver (and it is happen) and do backup of xorg.conf file. Than I load system in failsave mode and change it back, but nothing be done (network still not work and system crashes), I am try three times and this was stable reproducable. So, I remove the fglrx driver from my system. After this configuring of network does not hang up my system, but some problems was appear with my mouse cursor.. I restart the system and problems are disappeared, but network still not work. I open FireWall settings with YAST and trying to reconfigure it (disable IP translation), but this functionality was broken checkbox was already disabled and nothing can be done.. Network that was work already does not, and I have no even Internet. So I have no idia that can be done and reinstall system. After this I have configure my network by usual steps and it works fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Yast and try to configure network again 2. Press save settings and system hang up on configure FireWall stage Actual Results: System has hung up, on my keyboard blinks CapsLock and ScrollLock indicators. Expected Results: Network should be configured correctly. I dont want to reproduce this bug, because I have working system, but I hope that it can be fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

You can complain directly to ATI. Sorry. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
