https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=821978 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=821978#c0 Summary: 32bit pattern not working after minimal installation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: abergmann@suse.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- After a minimal openSUSE 12.3 installation it is not possible to activate the 32bit pattern afterwards. There is simply no selection of 32bit packages. How to reproduce: 1. Install a system with the Minimal Server Selection (Text Mode). In that case you will find openSUSE minimal patterns: patterns-openSUSE-minimal_base-12.3-7.10.1.x86_64 patterns-openSUSE-minimal_base-conflicts-12.3-7.10.1.x86_64 2. Run zypper to list the available patterns. #> zypper patterns Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... S | Name | Version | Repository | Dependency --+-------------------+-------------+-------------------+----------- | 32bit | 12.3-7.10.1 | openSUSE-12.3-Oss | 3. Try to install the 32bit pattern. #> zypper in -t pattern 32bit Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... In all fairness, I think this pattern is broken for years -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I just needed a 32bit runtime environment. I've ended up installing the 32bit libraries by hand. If it's broken then we should fix it, or get rid of the pattern. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
