If I want to have a look at the source, I do not necessarily want to build the package. And I do not want zypper to auto-pollute my system when installing a src.rpm. ;) If you want to build a package, and do not want to take care about all the details, use 'build (from package build: build SuSE Linux RPMs in a chroot environment). There's IMO no need to mimic or re-invent build logic in zypper. I think it's ok if packages contain enough build requires to build with 'build'. Bernhard, please turn this into a fate request. One solution would be to create a build-essentials package with those dependencies.
