[Bug 355402] New: SuSEconfig.gtk2 kills processes
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=355402 Summary: SuSEconfig.gtk2 kills processes Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: james@usr-local-bin.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer See $SUMMARY - this means that everytime SuSEconfig as a whole is run or the gtk2 module is run stand-alone (such as at an update) processes (such as gecko i.e. FireFox) are killed. The culprit *could* be /usr/bin/gtk-update-icon-cache - will try to be sure the next time it happens. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It's possible that mozilla finds some way to finalize a GtkWindow without 'destroy'ing it first: that would leave broken memory on the list of toplevels. Sadly all the toplevels we can see in the debugger are straight GtkWindow's and not derived classes. Also - there are rather a large number of toplevels (somehow) that are not visible - which is odd.
