Hey Roland, I just reproduced on my machine, works here as well. (64-bit, warm boot, 4 Gig+ of RAM, on my desk.) Your last comment suggests that its an issue of your CD, I haven't seen cases yet where broken CDs end up in the login prompt but who knows? Have you tried another CD?
I'm confused...you either reproduced the bug or you didn't? I just scrounged up a 3Gig laptop and did a COLD BOOT with this CD. Battery is dead in digital camera so screen shot will be a while, but most of what it says.. 12.1 "Asparagus" Kernel 3.1.0-1.1 [ 132.404995] systemd-readahead-collect[996] Failed to open pack file: Read-only file system It appears the startup is expecting to have a writable disk drive for unpacking files. Perhaps this is only a cold boot issue, like the login screen eating the first password you give it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hmm, I think the idea of "checking" was more to see if in one of the logfiles something suspicious can be found. Good candidates for helpful information are the files messages and the files within the directory YaST2
Well, most of us don't regularly read boot messages or look at those log files which don't have the common decency to end in .log -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
