So, let's start with that. Could you upload the output of hwinfo from various kernels? e.g. on Leap 15.4 and on 6.1-rcx. Also, please give the dmesg outputs from both cases. Then, try to check the touchpad device with evtest (included in the package evtest). Run it as root on a terminal, and you'll choose the device there.
