This bug symptoms are very similar to bug 577140, but I see bnc #577140 fix in the xorg-x11-driver-video log. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the system and watch the screen 2. Boot the system and don't watch the cursor Actual Results: Mouse cursor is corrupted (gray square or no cursor at all. Display was corrupted during installation process (black horizontal stripes crossing the screen and that disappear after some time and then appear again. Expected Results: Display correctly. My screen was corrupted during installation and I don't see the cursor. KMS (which appears to be broken for your graphics card) is active during installation. Fixed with RC1 (bnc #610352).

Cursor is OK and screen corruption is not observed. Now gdm started in the correct resolution (But surprisingly in VT8, not VT7 as it does in normal situation. In the third attempt it is detected ==> 1600x1200. I'm afraid S3/S4 never worked well with nv driver, especially on a desktop system. The system was rebooted just before the test to eliminate suspend/hibernate problems. I guess that the system would resume well from hibernate in runlevel 3 (and it did in both 3 and 5 in 11.2). It even resumes X and the system lives. Just the screen mode is not set properly after return from hibernation. I am able to do Ctrl+Alt+F1, then kill X/Xorg and start them again. Hibernate/resume worked well with nv driver in 11.2. There is no chance to return back to X. - Detached Xorg cannot be killed by killall Xorg, but killall -9 Xorg works. I am able to login to X again then (sometimes X starts to to 800x600, sometimes to 1600x1200).
