This resulted in having "default=2" in my menu.lst. But upon first boot, both 10.3 entries (default and fallback) have disappeared. IMO it is duplicate of bug #395085. If there is lost your default boot section with "configfile":"/boot/grub/menu.lst" next should be set like default.
