Now I have installed after: kde4-kupdaterapplet kde4-kupdaterapplet-zypp kde4-kupdaterapplet-packagekit all 0.8.34-2.1-i586 from openSUSE_11.1-0 After rebooting 1) no updater icon shows up in panel 2) an error says: "Unable to find any backend plugin..." 3) without any icon I am not able to configure anything. No files /var/log/zmd-*, no kupdateappletrc. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.delateing kde4-kupdaterapplet, kde4-kupdaterapplet-zypp and -packagekit 2.rebooting 3.reinstalling all above files 4.rebooting 5.no chance Actual Results: 1) no updater icon shows up in panel 2) an error says: "Unable to find any backend plugin..."
