If you perform an action which scrolls down constantly some information in the konsole (rsyncing folders or drives, for example), when you will switch viewports back to the konsole all the fonts will show as being overlapped with other information. - Under Dolphin KDE4, I have never reproduce this behavior. Since Konqueror is a KDE3 application and I have not tried the KDE4 konsole, maybe this behavior only occurs on KDE3 applications? This problem is intermittent. It makes it harder to pinpoint. There is no particular rare behavior to reproduce the bug. You need to have at least COMPIZ installed AND using its CUBE effect. It is the only way I was able to reproduce it. Since I have an nvidia grafx card, I don't know if using the CUBE with another grafx card would reproduce it. Different nvidia drivers using different COMPIZ-FUSION packages resulted in the same bug, including the latest versions of both (which includes both opensuse 10.3 and 11.0). Once the CUBE is enable, open Konqueror KDE3 or Konsole KD3 and perform any action that changes text/numbers in the window. For example in konqueror copying something from a folder to another generates a pop-up window with files being copied and progress. In konsole, try rsyncing drives or compiling a package, something that generates many lines. These test cases are required in order to give you enough time to reproduce the problem. Then while something runs in konsole which generates new lines every few tenths of a second or something big (say 2gigs+ to give you enough time) copies in konqueror, switch side of the cube, either with the mouse or keyboard key combination. Then switch back to the side of the cube where your stuff is running (konsole and konqueror). Do that until you see the fonts overlapping. It usually doesn't take much time, based on my experience in opensuse 10.3 using nvidia driver version X.X + COMPIZ version X.X and under 11.0 using nvidia driver version Y.Y + COMPIZ version Y.Y. Using different fonts did not change anything.
