[Bug 1120358] YaST bootloader crash: udevadm fails because of truncated /dev/mapper/cr_xxx name
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1120358 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1120358#c6 --- Comment #6 from Ulrich Windl <Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de> --- Finally I succeeded to add the attachment. In the meantime I'd like to point out that the real problem (that is hard to fix now that it's out in the wild) is that device names do contain colons, which is absolutely non-usual for UNIX systems. In particular: /dev/disk/by-id/dm-name-cr_md-uuid-5b79bdc4:3e23bac9:a062f15b:80b4abe7-part5 /dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-CRYPT-LUKS1-cff69d3d134544fc8ff0214fced739d4-cr_md-uuid-5b79bdc4:3e23bac9:a062f15b:80b4abe7-part5 /dev/mapper/cr_md-uuid-5b79bdc4:3e23bac9:a062f15b:80b4abe7-part5 It seems to me that udev uses the name what the device mapper sets up. mdadm -Q --detail also reports "UUID : 5b79bdc4:3e23bac9:a062f15b:80b4abe7" for the RAID. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
