http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558753 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558753#c0 Summary: Network adapters not available after first restart Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dr.rimzi@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=329689) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=329689) Full dmesg output User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/3.0.195.33 Safari/532.0 After successful instalation, network worked fine, all network adapters were recognised and it was possible to connect. Then, after first restart, there was no adapter listed after running ifconfig (except looopback). Network manager also didn't start. The system has nvidia nforce2 chipset. Also such error (can't tell if related) appears when starting: [ 6.865558] ACPI: I/O resource nForce2_smbus [0x5000-0x503f] conflicts with ACPI region SM00 [0x5000-0x5005] [ 6.865595] ACPI: If an ACPI driver is available for this device, you should use it instead of the native driver [ 6.865600] nForce2_smbus 0000:00:01.1: Error probing SMB1. [ 6.865732] i2c-adapter i2c-0: nForce2 SMBus adapter at 0x5100 [ 6.883721] forcedeth: Reverse Engineered nForce ethernet driver. Version 0.64. It is fresh install, nothing was changed in network-related configuration. Tried it twice! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install on a system with nForce2 chipset 2.Restart 3.No adapter present. Actual Results: No real network adapter detected. Expected Results: Network adapter is present and works normally. As a result of this bug I do not use openSUSE on this system anymore. If really needed, I can try to install it again.. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
