[Bug 249133] New: Too many usb ports are assinged to usb modem
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=249133 Summary: Too many usb ports are assinged to usb modem Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: clarkt@cnsp.com QAContact: qa@suse.de In 10.2, I added the definitions for a qualcomm cdma/evdo express/34 modem to airprime.c. The system assigned usb ports /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 to the modem. In 10.3A1, this modem is already defined in airprime.c. But, the system assigns too may usb ports to the card. Ports /dev/ttyUSB0-/dev/ttyUSB2 are assigned to the first port, /dev/ttyUSB3-/dev/ttyUSB5 are assigned to 2nd port. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Only for 10.3 is needed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=249133 ------- Comment #10 from gregkh@novell.com 2007-03-07 18:11 MST ------- Oh, doh, this is now a module parameter for some stupid reason. Try unloading the airprime module, and then loading it with: modprobe airprime endpoints=1 and then plugging your device in. It should then work like before. I'm looking into if this whole driver should be dropped and have the option driver work for it instead, but that's a longer-term solution. Let me know if this works or not for you. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
