[Bug 238048] New: Please blacklist *opt/gnome* in autobuild
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=238048 Summary: Please blacklist *opt/gnome* in autobuild Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Packages that try to install files into /opt/gnome, /etc/opt/gnome and /var/opt/gnome should be rejected in autobuild (except for compatibility packages that must use these directories for specific reasons). This can be implemented with a brp script that checks for an environment variable, so that individual packages can override the check if there's a very good reason. It's extremely important to blacklist /etc/opt/gnome and /var/opt/gnome as well, just blacklisting /opt/gnome is not sufficient as it seems that some packages happily continue using especially /etc/opt/gnome.[1] [1] http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-commit/2007-01/msg00807.html -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=238048 ------- Comment #2 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-02-11 21:29 MST ------- Just documenting that the following 7 binary packages are still using /opt/gnome: NetworkManager-openvpn NetworkManager-vpnc OpenOffice_org apparmor-admin_en jpilot-Backup seamonkey seamonkey-mail 7 is not much and except for OpenOffice_org these seem to be leaf packages, is it possible to get this blacklisted soon? I have filed bug 244533 about the NetworkManager packages because there are more things broken with them than just the prefix. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
