[Bug 365577] New: ivman - Bug which is said to be only present in 10. 1 is also present in 10.2
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=365577 Summary: ivman - Bug which is said to be only present in 10.1 is also present in 10.2 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: IA64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: herenz9@netscape.net QAContact: siegfried.olschner@novell.com Found By: --- Hello, My Bugreport releates to this wiki-page: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Automount_CD/DVD_with_ivman I use 10.2, and I always had trouble mounting devices, because I do not use kde (instead i prefer a more minimal wm). However, the problem was, that in order to get an USB-Stick or a CD mounted, I had to run Konqueror. So, now I finally had time to look after this issue, and I found your page. The instructions worked well, but I also had to copy the files from /etc/ivman to ~/.ivman , because the files originally created in ~/.ivman want to use mount for mounting media, not halmount. I also modified after that <ivm:Option name="fork" value="true" /> to false (because I run it in user mode, as the wikipage suggests). Now everything works great, usb-sticks and CD-Roms are automaticly mounted. This should be either default or should the installation of ivman be a little more painless. Also, the wikipage needs a little rework, because ivman does not only mount cds, it also mounts usb-sticks and other types of removeable media. Just wanted to let you know about this, don't know if this situation has changed in 10.3 or even for 11.
