[Bug 299608] New: failsafe grub-entry is not taken over from 10.2
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=299608 Summary: failsafe grub-entry is not taken over from 10.2 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sven.burmeister@gmx.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- When installing 10.3 Grub installs 10.3 and 10.3 failsafe. From 10.2 it only takes over the 10.2 and not the failsafe. Since one might need the failsafe for any of those linux-installations YaST should not remove one of them. This will be fixed in beta2, using chainloader / configfile entries for previous installations. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=299608#c2 Sven Burmeister <sven.burmeister@gmx.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |NEW Info Provider|sven.burmeister@gmx.net | --- Comment #2 from Sven Burmeister <sven.burmeister@gmx.net> 2007-08-13 01:14:03 MST --- Yes, I had 10.2 installed and hence grub showed the normal 10.2 entry and the failsafe one. If I install 10.3 too I still need both 10.2 grub items, so there should be 10.3 normal, 10.3 failsafe, 10.2 normal and 10.2 failsafe. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=299608#c3 Stefan Fent <stefan.fent@novell.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Comment #3 from Stefan Fent <stefan.fent@novell.com> 2007-08-16 04:01:29 MST --- This might make sense if you only have 2 installations, but gets irritating with more. So we decided to change additional installations sections to be chainloader (if applicable) or configfile. This change will appear in Beta2, and solves this bug, thus I'll close it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
