[Bug 1209105] [Build 20230308] Upgrade of Leap 15.x (with libvirtd.service enabled) to TW -> no libvirtd, service present
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1209105 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1209105#c9 --- Comment #9 from James Fehlig <jfehlig@suse.com> --- (In reply to Julie Cao from comment #7)
libvirtd.service was found disappeared in my Tumbleweed test too after libvirt => 9.1.0. https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3174874
reproduce step:
1. install TW snapshot20230314
So a fresh install, not an upgrade like dimstar's report?
2. zypper in -t pattern kvm_server kvm_tools 3. systemctl --no-pager enable libvirtd Failed to enable unit: Unit file libvird.service does not exist.
On a fresh install, kvm_server and kvm_tools no longer install libvirtd. Both patterns only recommend (or require) libvirt-daemon-qemu, which no longer includes the monolithic libvirtd. Enable and start virtqemud.{socket, service} instead. BTW, I recently documented libvirt modular daemons in the SLE doc, but not sure how that flows to the openSUSE docs https://github.com/SUSE/doc-sle/commit/2d2360c19cae4899ef039ae188ed27d9f274c... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
