Please also attach your PPD file /etc/cups/ppd/HP_Color_LaserJet_2600n You use a driver which is not provided by openSUSE. If the root cause is the driver, we cannot help you with a driver which is not provided by openSUSE. Your printer should be also supported by HPLIP which is provided by openSUSE both via the traditional HPIJS driver in HPLIP via this PPD /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/ hp-color_laserjet_2600n-hpijs.ppd.gz "HP Color LaserJet 2600n hpijs, 3.11.10, requires proprietary plugin" and via the newer HPCUPS driver in HPLIP via this PPD /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/ hp-color_laserjet_2600n.ppd.gz "HP Color LaserJet 2600n, hpcups 3.11.10, requires proprietary plugin" Because your printer requires a proprietary plugin, you need to use "hp-setup" to set it up and probably you need the newest HPLIP version 3.11.10 because older HPLIP version may fail to get the proprietary plugin from openprinting.org - for more information see http://hplipopensource.com/node/309 Please try out if your printer works with HPLIP, see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_set-up_a_HP_printer -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Your print in file by LibreOffice in attachment #463448 prints correctly on my HP LaserJet 1220 PostScript/PCL printer via "lp -d <queue_name> bug-731609_1_print_document" in PostScript mode and in PCL mode using various drivers like the Ghostscripr driver "ljet4", the HPLIP drivers HPIJS and HPCUPS, and the Gutenprint driver. I.e. I cannot reproduce your issue with your print in file by LibreOffice in attachment #463448 I need the PostScript printing output from LibreOffice. As is seems printing from LibreOffice into a file does no longer result the printing output from LibreOffice (as it worked all the time in the past) you need to get the actual printing output from LibreOffice in a different way: 1. Remove all jobs from your print queue as root: # cancel -a HP_Color_LaserJet_2600n 2. Stop printing for your print queue as root: # cupsdisable HP_Color_LaserJet_2600n 3. Print from LibreOffice to the HP_Color_LaserJet_2600n print queue. 4. Now there is a new print job data file /var/spool/cups/d<job-number>-001 which contains the actual printing output from LibreOffice. 5. Save this LibreOffice print job data file as root # cp /var/spool/cups/d<job-number>-001 /tmp/LibreOffice.print 6. Attach /tmp/LibreOffice.print to this bug. 7. Remove all jobs from your print queue as root: # cancel -a HP_Color_LaserJet_2600n 8. Re-enable printing for your print queue as root: # cupsenable HP_Color_LaserJet_2600n -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In contrast the "Spool from Okular" in attachment #463731 is PostScript and contains "%%Creator: Writer". Both your "Spool from LibreOffice" and your "Spool from Okular" print well for me. I have no idea what is going on in your particular case. For now I can only close the issue as "worksforme", see https://bugzilla.novell.com/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status ------------------------------------------------------------------ All attempts at reproducing this bug were futile ... .. no clues as to why the described behavior would occur. If more information appears later, the bug can be reopened. ------------------------------------------------------------------ As a workaround you may try out if it works to print the PDF from the Adobe Reader because it is known that often the Adobe Reader works best to print PDF in particular because the Adobe Reader itself converts the PDF to PS and provides an "autorotate and center" functionality to fit the content regardless how it is oriented into the printable area. If the Adobe Reader can print it correctly for you, you may at least for now use the Adobe Reader to print PDFs (regardless that the Adobe Reader is non-free software). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This kind of issue is well known but unfortonately the root cause is obscure. Usually this issue is introduced by the application program which produces the original printing output. Usually this issue happens when the application program procudes printing output which content is already correctly rotated so that the content fits into the "portrait" imageable area of the printer (i.e. content which is initially "landscape" is already rotated 90 degees by the application program so that the rotated content is now actually "portrait"). But when then the application program provides meta-information in its printing output (e.g. DSC comments for PostScript) that it is "landscape", the printing system may again rotate the actually "portrait"-content by 90 degees which results in the end that the content becomes again actually "landscape" so that it does no longer fit into the "portrait" imageable area of the printer and the final printout result is clipped content. Regarding clipped content when printing "landscape" with Okular see bug #686195 which is a duplicate of bug #625122 which is not yet fixed. Regarding clipped content when printing "landscape" with LibreOffice I don't know. Perhaps you should file a new bug report regarding LibreOffice for this issue.
