[Bug 516809] New: After Suspend to RAM or Disk IP Packet Routing is not Re-established under Network Manager
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=516809 Summary: After Suspend to RAM or Disk IP Packet Routing is not Re-established under Network Manager Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alpha096@virginbroadband.com.au QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.10 After either a Suspend to RAM or Suspend to Disk IP Routing is not re-established in Network Manager no tests done on IFUP, but presume the same. The system tray applet shows connected all o.k, but no packets are routed to this PC's IP. Its as if the NIC is not re-established in the sense it does not advertise to the Network and therefore attracts no packet exchange. IP V4 has enough redundancy to re-establish itself for the IP to suddenly become established and recognised so its not a comms error I would believe Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Under KDE3 Network Manager to Configure a wired static IP and connect. LAN should NOT offer any DHCP Services. 2. Use either Suspend to RAM or Disk - which ever really does work 3. Awake the PC, note system tray display indicates active connection. 4. Open FF or any Internet Application - No response - unable to find Network NO NFS is re-established after suspend * Actual Results: NO IP Access at all not even local NFS. Work around is left click on NM Applet>Edit>Next>connect and Save. NIC and IP is now re-established Expected Results: It works QA - Please Adjust my initial classification to correct one. Action team - Please let me know how I can help with logs? or anything else in the unlikely even you cannot demonstrate this error on your internal testing LAN and devices and PC's -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
