I can add it of course, but my understanding is that all data which is needed to identify and install a product shall be in the rpm-md meta data.
Yes, that would be the ideal case.
The products are listed there already via provides, why isn't this enough?
The LeanOS medium provides several products to install (SLES, SLED, LeanOS). Which product name should YaST use for the repository name? The repository name is needed *before* creating the repository. The "provides" can be read only after the repository created and the metadata are downloaded/parsed. But there is a possible workaround for this, YaST could change the name later when the metadata are available. Also the LeanOS installer could rename the repository according to the selected product to install. Or we could add a new "provides" flag which would name the repository. But it has to be defined only in *one* product in the repository otherwise we would be back at the multiple names problem.
