It would be nice if you could provide the following information :
1) What is your KDE version ?
2) What is your graphics card and what driver are you using ?
3) What are the powerdevil settings (screenshot of the settings would be sufficient for now)
O/S is 12.1 Linux Kernel 3.1.10.1-16-default kde install Video Card recognised wt specific driver as nVida GT200 - 3D driver NVIDIA 304.64 Default Power Devel as Performance defaults...I can create DPMS by only changing defaults to both Disable Desktop Effects AND Screen Energy Saving both set to 10mins...The issue is the default power devil will not permit the video from entering DPMS..User has to change both of above settings to the same time period to effect DPMS....Please let me know if anything you may need -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The Nvida nouveau Gallium (8.0.4) that is in 12.2 does an excellent job of fulfilling every Video Effect and consequences, of which there are many. The nouveau Gallium (8.0.4) driver I feel, is the biggest improvement in native Suse as I have it working perfectly over a range of different Nvida Video cards for over 8 or so X_64 devices. Please review close status and correct for me where necessary.
