Hans de Raad
With all above fixes, i get black screens under VNC.
Switching to xdm as display manager works, though and vnc sessions work correctly.
Any other login manager ends up with black screen (lightdm, lxdm) or shows login screen (gdm) but after entering credentials nothing else happens.
Didn't test kdm yet. I think running vncserver from lightdm also doesn't work correctly, and ends up with desktop not loading at all.
Steps to reproduce : - boot netinstall image - install with lxde desktop - enable vnc - vnc -> asks for unknown password - apply fixes from #2 - restart xinetd - vnc - > black screen - switch to xdm and restart rcxdm - vnc works
I can confirm this workaround is working on a clean (Vbox) 12.3 installation. Steps i followed were: - Enable remote administration through Yast (which installs the packages) - Open ports in Yast firewall (manually added tcp ports 5900, 5901, 5800, 5801) - Added the -securitytypes=none argument to xinetd config of vnc - Switched Display manager to xdm in Yast sysconfig editor - Reboot - Works This however is a lot of work to get something working that should only require a quick Yast config (like it did in < 12.2), any updates on improving this experience? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
