https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229282 ------- Comment #1 from sh@novell.com 2006-12-20 04:41 MST ------- This is way beyond the scope of that kind of online help. This would be something for the printed manuals. Light grey is used in the installation sources filter view for packages that the currently selected installation source provides, but that you will not get from that source because another source has a better version. Example: myfoo-1.2.3 available from openSUSE CD2 myfoo-1.2.4 available from ftp.opensuse.org If you select "myfoo" for installation, you will get myfoo-1.2.4 from ftp.opensuse.org because that version is newer. In the installation sources filter view "myfoo" will be displayed in black when "ftp.opensuse.org" is the current filter (the source that is selected in the "installation sources" list). It will be displayed in grey if you select "openSUSE CD". The reasoning is that you will probably want to know what packages you will get from that source when you select it. OTOH you want to see those packages, too that are also on that installation source. BTW you can manually select the other version, too: Use the "Versions" tab in the lower right pane. You see, it's not so simple to explain in a concise way. That's one reason why it's not there in the online help. ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
