https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=231164 ------- Comment #3 from madworm_de.novell@spitzenpfeil.org 2007-01-05 08:13 MST ------- Before I switched from standard to the xen kernel I had my system running with the nvidia-glx module installed just by adding the nvidia-repo with yast as suggested by the opensuse-site. That module is of course installed into the NON-xen lib - directory. As far as I know there is no stock nvidia module for xen. So when I booted the xen-kernel there was no nvidia module available. Thus X would not run anymore. I expected that. Then I fired up sax2 to reconfigure xorg.conf - which failed miserably. Sax2 detected the nvidia chipset and tried to start an X server with said - missing - module. I ended up replacing the 'nvidia' with the 'nv' module in xorg.conf by hand. The problem is that sax2 'believed' everything was fine... which is true for the standard kernel, but not for the xen kernel. That's why I suggested sax2 should not use the 'nvidia' module when a xen-kernel is running. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
