The installation DVD goes to the green background screen with "Boot From Hard Disk", "Installation", etc... If Installation is selected, the "Loading Kernel" progress bar comes up. Once it is done, the screen goes blank and does nothing from that point (the monitor acts as if the system turned off). Several screen resolutions and ACPI modes were tried with no luck. If using text-mode I get the message "Kernel alive Kernel really alive PANIC: early exception 0e rip 10:ffffffff8021c3ae error 0 cr2 ffffffffff5fc0f0" I have tried with the commercial CD and a network install CD. I have tried two different graphics cards, ATI Radeon Choosing x86 installs just fine on the Dell XPS. Either mode (x86_64 or x86) appears to install fine on the Dell Optiplex 330. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Put 11.1 DVD in Dell XPS 2. Boot From DVD. 3. Select Installation from DVD menu. Actual Results: Blank Screen.
