I hope it is also enough for your production usage so you can bear with us until we work out what the problem is... I believe the e1000 driver is the correct one. If it actually detects your card and brings up an interface, that suggests it matches the hardware PCI IDs... and given that Intel maintains both the hardware and the software, they should have this right. I'm not completely sure how the e1000 driver is maintained in the suse kernels, so I'm cc'ing Karsten.
