https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403053 Summary: zypper improvements Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: scottn@ihug.co.nz QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- The new zypper is a great improvement over the one found in 10.3 - it is faster and seems to handle dependencies vastly better. However, there are some improvements I would still like to see. These are: 1. Ability to find unmaintained packages from the command line. You can do this in Software Management in Yast but not that I can see from the command line. 2. Ability to list the architecture for packages from the command line. Maybe this could be an option when the --table-style zypper option is developed (The man page still has TODO next to it). 3. A way of listing unused libraries like deborphan does in Debian. 4. It would be nice if we could have a zypper upgrade as well as a zypper update. The update would do what zypper update currently does, the zypper upgrade would do what zypper update -t package currently does.
