Samba 4 is in beta state at the moment.
As soon as it is released we'll use it for openSUSE. Before it will stay in network:samba:TESTING
As soon as it gets released we'll have it available from network:samba:STABLE first and soon after in openSUSE Factory.
Changing the ownership of /var/lib/named/ was and is the wrong approach. Use /var/lib/named/dyn/ as described in bnc#738156 and by mail on the openSUSE lists several times.
If the suggested approach to use of /var/lib/named/dyn/ isn't possible please explain why this is the case.
After a TOTALLY CLEAN and untouched NEW 12.1 install and then of bind using Yast, the error of 'the working directory is not writable' is given. This is a virgin install with no user zones defined. The error happens as soon as bind is started. Nothing has been user configured. Please could you fix this?
In bnc#761987 you might add a comment too to stress why this is important for openSUSE 12.1 too. Marcus had been this nice to lift the gnutls version for the openSUSE 12.2 release to 3.0.20. As 3.0.21 is the most current version please stress in bnc#761987 why 3.0.21 is required from your point of view.
Tested with 12.2 beta and 3.0.19. Fine. Samba4 starts fine. No delay. We don't need 3.0.21 if 3.0.19 works. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
